thanks
Giving thanks in New England is best expressed traditionally, and no where else can share that experience than Old Sturbridge Village on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26. Costumed interpreters demonstrate hearthside cooking (including the use of a tin kitchen), attend a Meetinghouse service, hold an after-dinner target shoot, and otherwise celebrate this important American holiday the way early 19th-century New Englanders did. Learn about period table manners and communal customs, including the popularity of holding weddings while family and friends were gathered for this holiday occasion. For an extra fee, enjoy a Thanksgiving Feast (in the Bullard Tavern) or holiday buffet (in the Oliver Wight Tavern) of your own on Thursday or Friday. Call 508-347-0396 for reservations or information. $20 adults; $18 seniors; $7 youth (ages 3-17); under 3 FREE. 9:30 a.m. to 4p.m. Old Sturbridge Village, 1 Old Sturbridge Village Road, Sturbridge. Call 800-733-1830, www.osv.org.
